This won't impart shock resistance but if all you are looking for is protecting your finish in a compact manner, the See Thru Case is all you need. There are rubber edges on the sides which aid with grip, and the ports are easily accessible for full functionality. The major criticisms I have read is that this product is thin and flimsy. I find the thin size helpful for allowing me to use this product in my speaker dock. I consider this case as "one step" above the Zagg Invisible Shields.
- The rubber grips on the sides of the case are attached using cheap glue and will peal off within a few weeks. If you buy this, be prepared to carry around a phone that looks scratched & ugly. I finally took them off.- I tried to contact the seller 2 times before they responded. A combination of this case along with the screen protector film would have been an ideal protection for my phone. Their response was that they have discontinued the item (a lie) and I should send the item back to them at my cost if I want a refund after they assess it.
It fitted well to over the phone. It may be protecting your phone but you have lost 100% of the charm factor of your iPhone. You can try putting them back on or use super-glue or something else but it will be messy. I decided to leave this review instead. This would have been a good product, if they had used better quality plastic and a much better quality rubberized grip. I purchased it for my 3GS iPhone and right out of the box the item looks good.
But here is the deal:- Within 2 weeks of use, the cheap plastic is all scratched. I asked them to replace it as I did not want to spend any more on shipping.
I take extreme care to not get any scratch on it; I will let it rest on a paper towel while on my desk, and I place it in a leather case holster when I go out, but still somehow it manages to get scratched up (and I've only had it for 4 days). I didn't because it was too much work. This is a very nice case for the iphone 3g or 3gs. Mine came with some scratches on the back, so I called up the seller, mygearstore, and they wanted me to send it back and they will send me a new one. I really like this case but it get scratched up very easily.
The case is easy to install and it's great that you can detach the bottom half to dock your phone plus you can use it as a stand for watching a movie on the iphone. I have not experienced that.yet.
What I might try after I get my new unit is to take the old one, and see if I can completely remove the adhesive and then superglue the rubber directly to the case and see if that holds better. My biggest complaint is after only 1 month of use, the bottom of the rubber sides started to slip back and forth.
I do detach the bottom half every night to put it in my dock, at work I have a spare charger that I hook up directly without having to detach the bottom half, and it is still very secure. The good news is that I contacted Speck and they shipped me out a new unit.
I got this case because 1) I did not want a silicon based case which would not slip in and out of my pocket easily, and 2) I wanted a case that showed off the design of the iphone. There was a reviewer who said that they had a problem with the bottom half being so loose that it comes off even with just picking it up.
Apparently the quality of the double-sided adhesive/tape was not that great and already wearing out.
This case offers very little protection.not worth the money.or the money it cost to return it. Don't bother.
